"Come let us sing for joy to the Lord. Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Come before His presence with thanksgiving and extol Him with the music and song."
Music is an active and exciting part in the life of First United Methodist Church, and there is a place for you in our Ministry of Music. Singing in a choir, no matter your age, creates community, and can help each person develop in their spiritual journey. These groups offer fellowship and friendships while creating music for the glory of God. We have offerings for all ages, and welcome you to contribute to our worship. The purpose of the Music Ministry is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through music and song, encourage believers in their walk with Christ, lead the congregation in worship and provide an avenue through which individuals may share their gifts and be an integral part of the worship experience.
Please email our director of music ministries Dr. Caleb Chang if you are interested in singing and/or playing instruments with us for the glory of God.

Following God’s guidance and taking direction from scripture, we will be involved in efforts which:
- Spread news of Christ’s unconditional and redeeming love in word and in service to those in need at home and around the world,
- Work to alleviate deprivation and suffering through ministries with the poor, the sick, the oppressed, victims of disaster and with the weak and vulnerable,
- Support United Methodist missionaries and agencies as well as persons in our local church family who are engaged in mission work. We encourage all to be involved in serving others.
Join us every Saturday from 5-6pm in the Alexander Gym for a free meal and kind fellowship. Open Table is an integral ministry at FUMCD that is open to all. We hope to bring our community together through food and fellowship. Come for a warm meal, friendly conversation, and groceries to take home. We look forward to seeing you there!
