New Here?
Welcome to First Duncanville!
We are delighted that you are here and invite you to be a part of our community.
We are a warm and engaging congregation who are eager to meet you and help you find your way around the First Duncanville campus.
Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds. You will see people in the congregation dressed in all styles—from jeans to business suits. Our hour-long service is filled with excellent teaching, preaching and music. We encourage children to attend worship services, but we also offer a variety of Sunday morning programs for children, preteens, and middle and high school kids; as well as Sunday classes and small groups for adults.
Throughout the week, we offer classes, small group and volunteer opportunities for all ages, as well as men and women only groups. These larger groups help you to connect with smaller groups of people at different locations and times during the week.
Our hope is that you enjoy your Sunday with us, and explore other opportunities on our campus. If you have any questions, please get in touch with us via e-mail, or 972.298.6121.

We offer two main opportunities to worship on Sundays. We proudly offer a traditional style service and have Sunday School small group style classes.
Our worship service times and descriptions can be found here.
We have ample parking on all sides of our campus. Our guest parking spots are located on the north side of our sanctuary in-between Administrative Building and the Gym.
You will see anything from jeans and a Cowboys jersey to a suit and tie. Please come in whatever you are most comfortable. Our Modern worship is the most casual service, and our traditional worship is generally a more formal service.
At FUMCD kids are welcome! We offer a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn, make friends, and grow in their faith. Come join us and see how we can support your family's spiritual journey.
Membership
If you are interested in becoming a member of our church family here at FUMCD, there are several ways to do so. The way to begin this process is to email Pastor Abril Goforth and let her know of your interest, and she will take if from there! Below are some frequently asked questions, which will give you more information about membership here at FUMCD.
What are the expectations of members?
When a person joins our church family, they are asked to support the ministry of Jesus Christ in the following five ways:
All of our members make a commitment to pray for the world, The United Methodist Church and our congregation of FUMC Duncanville.
All of our members make a commitment to be present in worship and any other ministries where they can grow their faith, foster relations with our community and serve the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ.
All of our members make a commitment to support the ministry of Jesus Christ in and through our church with their financial gifts. This includes filling out a pledge card. We give out of joy, generosity and a determination to see God’s will enacted in our community and in our world.
All of our members make a commitment to follow in the example of Christ, who, though he was God, came in the form of a servant. Service and missions are foundational to our church’s identity.
All of our members make a commitment to respond to the commission that Christ gave to all of us, to make disciples of all nations. The primary way in which we do this is to share the good news, the Gospel of Jesus Christ in all that we do and say.
Do I need to be baptized?
Every member of a United Methodist Church is a baptized Christian. This means that all baptized people, adults and children, may join the church at any time. If you have been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, we recognize your baptism.
If you have never been baptized, that’s no problem! We will be more than happy to baptize you before you become a member.
