Fall Festival is October 21st and 22nd. There are many ways you can volunteer your help. Here is one of the ways: Dean Singleton will be taking and printing photos in Aldersgate Hall as part of the family activities of the festival. He is working on a fall backdrop for the photos and needs 2 bales of hay. If you can help us out with this request, contact Betty Dunn @ 214-534-3039 or Dean Singleton at 972-938-2688.
October 1st is Consecration Sunday when we will be kicking off “Fearless Generosity,” our 2017 Stewardship Campaign. All are encouraged to sign our Fearless Generosity banner in support of our family bringing together our treasures, talents, and time. The banner will be in the Narthex for the month of September.
Healthy Church Initiative Survey
As part of our Healthy Church Initiative (HCI) Phase II you are encouraged to complete the survey to evaluate the health of our church. It is our goal to receive 100 more surveys completed in the next 2 weeks. This survey will be available in the church lobby, online, Sunday School classes and in the church office. If you desire a copy to be mailed please contact Melissa at 972-298-6121 or download directly from our homepage.
If you are a church member, click here for your on-line survey.
Hurricane Relief Efforts
Many thanks to father and son team, Brad and David Ralph! This past week they loaded and hauled relief supplies to the Houston area to aid in the recovery from Hurricane Harvey. Their flatbed trailer and their pickup truck was loaded with 96 cases of water donated by Linda and Ricky Hodge, 36 flood buckets assembled by our Mission Committee, and the cab of their pick up crammed with relief supplies donated by you, the members of Duncanville First Methodist Church. Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow!
The children and their parents assembled 200 health kits in the gym last Sunday evening! A great time was had by all. The kits will be taken to a shelter where hurricane victims are staying. Thanks to the Mission Committee for organizing this activity!
PIP DAYS will take place September 29th, 30th and October 6th, 7th. There is plenty of time to sign up to help. There will be a table in the Narthex before and after worship service Sunday morning. Contact Betty Dunn at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 214-534-3039 if you have questions.
Make a Difference
Our children’s Sunday school is in need of one more volunteer who can teach 2 times a month. Curriculum, supplies and training are provided. We also need 4 more adults who are able to tutor Central Elementary students on Wednesday afternoons 3:30-5:00. Those selected must pass a background check and online training. For more information please contact Bridget@FUMCD.com.

The New Horizons Class is sponsoring a Regifting Table which will offer new items. We need donations such as those gifts you received but never used, items you purchased and now don’t remember what you were going to do with it, anything you have put away to use at another time, but never did. These will be resold as regifting. Please donate these by bringing them to the New Horizons Classroom or contacting Barbara McGee at 972-266-8412
Covenant Gardens and Seekers Class is sponsoring the Dig It Garden Shop – seeds, plants, pots, and garden tools, supplies, and decorations.
