You are invited to fill a shoe box with inexpensive necessity items that might make living on the streets a little easier. Use an empty shoe box (standard size). Please only use boxes that have a separate bottom and lid. Please wrap the lid and box separately. The box should not be wrapped shut when finished.
GIFT IDEAS FOR SHOE BOXES
The November 8th Communion Rail Offering for PET of Brazos Valley was $1693.00. This amount will pay for 6 PETs! PET is an acronym for Personal Energy Transportation ~ a cart for God’s children who are leg disabled ~a cart that will go where ordinary wheel chairs cannot go! First United Methodist Church is a giving church! worthy cause! Betty Dunn
To God Be The Glory!
The December Communion Rail Offering will go to New Church Development and will be designated for El Lugar De Su Gracia (Place of His Grace), a Spanish Methodist Church, sponsored by Trinity United Methodist Church in Duncanville. The Vision of New Church Development is to create a culture off ‘churches planting churches’ and plant new communities of faith where God’s transforming grace in Jesus Christ offers a new life of Christian discipleship to the world. This is another avenue for First United Methodist Church, Duncanville to reach out to needs in our own community.

The Cherub Choir sang “Little People Can Do Big Things” on Sunday and indeed they can.
Linda Elms, Director of Children and Family Ministries, met with the children in the Chapel and decorated the tree and learned about each ornament and its importance in the Bible. When placing the nativity on the altar, Linda talked about the story of the birth of Jesus. They also decorated a tree in Wesley. Thanks Linda and all the children for spreading Christmas cheer around the campus of FUMCD. Click here to view more pictures.
On Sunday evenings children are in handbells, choirs, Kids4Christ and they also have a snack supper. This meal was pigs in a blanket and mac ‘n cheese. What a great program we have for our kids.
Join in and be a part of the renewed Aldersgate.
Visit your local home improvement store, purchase a 6 foot 1X4. Buy as many as you want to represent you and your family. Now the easy part. On one side of the board, write your name/names, pick a Bible verse, saying, poem, special date, whatever is special to you. The other side will be stained and put up for you. The name side will be on the back and the stained side will show as pictured above. Any wood will be fine therefore giving different textures and dimension to the wall. We are going to try to get these all collected by Thanksgiving.
