Healthy Church Initiative
Following church on Sunday, the Healthy Church Initiative Consultation Report was presented with the Strengths and Concerns shared by many over the past year. Five Prescriptions were presented by the Committee. On Sunday, February 11, following worship, there will be a Town Hall Meeting in Aldersgate to discuss these issues. Bring your covered dish and enjoy the fellowship as we discuss our future as a church family. There are copies of this in the church office, or one can be mailed to you by calling 972.298.6121. Click here for a link to the report
Sunday, February 18, immediately following worship there will be a Called Church Conference, presided over by our District Superintendent, Cammie Gaston, to vote whether we decide to proceed with the five prescriptions set forward by the Healthy Church Initiative Team.
Small Conference Room Available
A small conference room is in the works in the Administration Building. A office that is no longer used and was at one time a small conference room is once again being repurposed for small meetings and gatherings. By using this area, we do not have to heat/cool the large conference room.
If you work for a company that is redecorating and has 6-8 matching conference room chairs that you no longer need, contact Pat Daniel email@example.com
Communion Offering for February
Golden Cross is a faith-based program of Methodist Health System and the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Its purpose is to provide financial assistance for health care to North Texans who cannot afford it.
Souper Bowl of Caring
This Sunday bring canned soup or non-perishable food items to the lobby.
Children will be in the lobby before and after worship if you would prefer to give a monetary donation. All food items will be donated to Open Table, a food mission of our church that feeds and sends food home with people every Saturday evening.
Tissues and Disinfecting Wipes for Central Elemetnary
This flu season has hit our area in a big way! In an effort to help protect the student, faculty and staff at Central Elementary, we will be collecting boxes of Kleenex and packages of disinfecting wipes for their classrooms. Please bring your donations to the collection station in the lobby when you come to worship this weekend.

Heifer International Offering
Pick up a canister this Sunday in the lobby, fill it with change, and bring it to church with you on Sunday, February 25, 2018.
The children of FUMC will be collecting money that day in pails and wagons for the annual Children’s Sabbath offering for Heifer International. This money will be sent directly to Heifer International to help families in developing areas become self-sufficient. Our goal this year is $5,000 which will purchase an “ark”; two water buffalos, two cows, two sheep and two goats, along with bees, chicks, rabbits and more.
