Together We Can Fight the Flu
FACT: The flu vaccination does not protect people from all strains of the influenza virus. But to help prevent it, it’s important to boost your immune system by eating more vegetables, bundle up when it gets cold, wash your hands, and stay away from anyone with the flu.
FACT: The vaccine, like almost all medications, isn’t immediate. It takes time.

We have just been notified by the contractor working on the Alexander Gym building that they will begin working inside the Gym today. This work will be for at least one month and will have limited access to the facility. The space will be unavailable for use until the work is cleared. This is effective immediately. Therefore the Gym area will be off limits until further notice. Please make alternate arrangements. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
All Sunday School classrooms can use their rooms as always, except for the rooms being repaired. There will be heavy duty equipment in the gym while repairs are being done.
Please contact the church office should have any questions at 972-298-6121

CASA QUILTERS 10th Anniversary
CASA Quilters is beginning its 10th year as a group. It started with 12 members (only 2 are still active), but it now has 44 members from various churches and groups. The first delivery was 35 quilts and this last year it delivered over 500 quilts, with a grand total of 3,310. This just proves that when you respond to a “God nudge” you had better just get out of the way and watch what happens. Many of you have helped by donating money, fabric and supplies. We honor you also as the quilts are displayed and blessed the quilts on January 26th before our first delivery to CASA for this year.
CASA Quilters has become a diverse group. The FUMCD CASA have non- church members who have joined the group whoare from various churches and groups who travel from Grand Prairie to Ovilla and towns in between. The CASA quilters have an enjoyable time together with one common goal – to provide comfort quilts for children in foster care.
Congratulations on your 10th Anniversary of Ministry! Your time and talents are appreciated with every stitch you make and know every child feels love upon receiving a beautiful quilt made specially for them.
Casa Quilters will have their quilts displayed this Sunday, January 26th in the sanctuary, where they will be blessed by Pastor Frank Alegria.
CASA Quilt Delivery will be Thursday, January 30th.
