End of Year Giving
The end of the year is coming quickly. Church members often have questions about their giving options and timing at year end. Our church is happy to work with you to achieve your giving goals and ensure the contribution is credited to you this year. You may always contact Bobbie Weisinger at the church office, 972-298-6121, or by email at email@example.com to arrange your giving at this busy time of the year.
Here are some options and timelines available to you:
Give at one of the remaining worship services,
Online Giving by credit card at www.fumcd.com or Mail your check to the church office postmarked by December 31, 2019.Use your bank’s bill pay system postmarked by December 31, 2018.
If giving stock or funds managed by a broker, ask for a transfer to be completed by December 31, 2019. Bring your gift to the church office by 4:30 December 23, 2019.
Remember the church office will be closed December 24– January 2, 2019.
Drop in the After Hours slot on the south side of the Administrative building by
December 31, 2019

A Special Advent Celebration

December 1, was the first Sunday of Advent, the Sunday in which we light the first candle to burn as a Symbol of Peace among all people.

We are blessed to have fabulous volunteers who are committed to our ministries with children and youth. While I took time to spend Thanksgiving with my family, several of our volunteers kept our ministries running full-steam here at home. Thank you to George and Denise Montequin for teaching the children during the Sunday School hour, Rachel Perez and Taylor Mann for leading the Youth Sunday School, Nathan Woodell and Kenzie Owens for Leading the Youth Group!

First Methodist School Supports Open Table and Duncanville Outreach Ministries
We are hosting a canned food drive now through December 12 for Open Table and Duncanville Outreach Ministries. We pray our students learn to be the hands and feet of God in our world!
Open Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year (ages 1 year – kindergarten) is going on now! If you know a family with young children, please tell them about our school so they can learn and grow with us!

Purchase your poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one in the Narthex on Sundays: December 1, 8 and 15 for $15.00

Plants will be delivered to the sanctuary on December 11 where they will be enjoyed until Christmas Eve.
Plants may be picked up following any of the Christmas Eve services.
United Methodist Men Christmas Caroling
The United Methodist Men (UMM) will be caroling on Monday, December 9 from 6:30-9 PM. All are welcome to join in the festivities! They will be visiting our homebound church members to bring them some Christmas cheer. Please meet at 414 at 6:30 PM if you are interested in being part of the fun!
The Christmas Bonus
The SPRC is inviting the church to consider a gift to the Staff Christmas Bonus Fund. This is an opportunity to say an extra Thank You to the Staff at year end. Please make checks payable to FUMCD, Memo: Staff Bonus.
Any cash donations should be in a clearly marked envelope with the Memo: Staff Bonus.

Children’s Ministry This Week
The children have been rehearsing for weeks and will be singing in worship this Sunday! Children should meet in the Narthex at 9 a.m. Sunday morning for one final rehearsal. Parents, please bring a change of clothes your child to put on after church as we will be going to Red Bird Lanes for a bowling party! Parents will transport children to Red Bird Lanes and pick them up at 1:30.
