End of Year Giving
The end of the year is coming quickly. Church members often have questions about their giving options and timing at year end. Our church is happy to work with you to achieve your giving goals and ensure the contribution is credited to you this year. You may always contact Bobbie Weisinger at the church office, 972-298-6121, or by email at email@example.com to arrange your giving at this busy time of the year.
Here are some options and timelines available to you:
Give at one of the remaining worship services,
Online Giving by credit card at www.fumcd.com or Mail your check to the church office postmarked by December 31, 2019.Use your bank’s bill pay system postmarked by December 31, 2018.
If giving stock or funds managed by a broker, ask for a transfer to be completed by December 31, 2019. Bring your gift to the church office by 4:30 December 23, 2019.
Remember the church office will be closed December 24– January 2, 2019.
Drop in the After Hours slot on the south side of the Administrative building by December 31, 2019

Special Advent Celebration on Sunday
The special Advent Celebration on Sunday was filled with beautiful music sung by the Children’s Choir and Chancel Choir along with an Orchestra organized by Music Director Steve Sobczak.
Thank you to all the people that helped make this special service happen.
During Children’s Moment on Sunday the FUMCD children received a special gift from our Children and Youth Director, Bridget Maloney.

First Methodist School Is Ready for Winter!
This week, our students participated in a Penguin Race in Gym! They watched how penguins travel in their natural environment and then imitated them as they raced against their friends.
Open Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year (ages 1 year – kindergarten) is going on now! If you know a family with young children, please tell them about our school so they can learn and grow with us!

Poinsettia Sales Begins
Purchase your poinsettia in honor or memory of a loved one in the Narthex on Sunday, Dec. 15, for $15.00
Make check payable to the Homebuilders SS Class.
Plants will be delivered to the sanctuary on December 11 where they will be enjoyed until Christmas Eve.
Plants may be picked up following any of the Christmas Eve services.
United Methodist Men Christmas Caroling
The United Methodist Men (UMM) and Friends visited 5 houses of our home bound members. The members were filled with joyful noise and gratitude.
Shoe Boxes for the Homeless
122 boxes were delivered for the homeless at the Bridge. We kept an additional 10 for distribution to Duncanville homeless. Many thanks to all who participated as well as to Holy Spirit Catholic Church who joined us in making boxes. One person noted that it was truly an ecumenical project with the Catholics and Methodist contributing to the Presbyterian project.
The Christmas Bonus
The SPRC is inviting the church to consider a gift to the Staff Christmas Bonus Fund. This is an opportunity to say an extra Thank You to the Staff at year end. Please make checks payable to FUMCD, Memo: Staff Bonus.
Any cash donations should be in a clearly marked envelope with the Memo: Staff Bonus.
Deadline is Sunday, December 15.
