The Church and People with Disabilities
This study intends to build awareness in the church regarding issues around disability, to call the church to provide full accessibility to services and opportunities, and to promote advocacy for justice for people with disabilities. The study will encourage you to identify ways that your church can do more to open the floodgate to inclusion and equality.

SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO
Songs For A New World A Musical by Jason Robert Brown Playing at FUMCD AT 6:30 on September 12
There is no over-arching plot, no dialogue and no consistent characters throughout the evening. The musical consists of songs; every song is about those moments in life when everything seems perfect and then suddenly disaster strikes, in the form of the loss of a job, an unexpected pregnancy, the death of a loved one, the end of a marriage, imprisonment, even suicide. But it’s even more about surviving those moments.
Our own Betsy Stelzer is a part of this group.
Reception for Betsy Stelzer, Director of Music
All are invited to a reception sponsored by the Staff Parish Committee for Betsy Stelzer, our new Director of Music, on Sunday, August 30, from 10:00-10:45 in the Narthex.
Betsy has moved to a new apartment and some have asked if there is anything that you can do to welcome Betsy. Cards, gift cards from Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, Walmart or any place would be certainly useful. More importantly, just come by the Narthex and introduce yourself.
Exterior lighting has been installed all over the campus for safety purposes
The ceiling tiles in Aldersgate were falling down as a result of all the water damage due to the torrential rains in May. It has become a safety issue. Aldersgate has been closed to all activities so that renovation may begin.
Aldersgate has been cleared and scaffolding will soon go up. The goal is to make this a very usable facility for meetings, choir presentations and plays, receptions, and so much more.
