Hurray for Project Transformation Volunteers!!!
This year was the best ever! For two weeks 28 adults and teens (a record number) gave from 2 to 16 hours to read individually with 80 elementary children. The interns felt so grateful for our enthusiastic involvement.
Three dinners were provided: Family Fun Night in February for 45 folks, Family Fun Night in July for 160, and supper for interns at SMU for 130 . Almost 50 generous FUMCD members helped by preparing food and/or serving. Your Missions Committee heartily thanks all individuals, S.S. classes and Methodist Men who worked so hard.
God is truly at work in this wonderful ministry, which began in N. TX and has spread to other Methodist conferences. In our area alone it positively impacted over 1000 children, supported and trained 130 young adults and provided community involvement for 10 congregations.
