Good Folks, it is Friday, May 11, 2018. Only two days until Mother’s Day, 10 days until Pentecost and 38 days until Father’s Day. (Hint, Hint, Hint)
The summer months bring travel, a slower pace for some and a time to recharge one’s batteries for the soul. I will continue to harvest from the gardens, plant some summer vegetables and plan for the next season of sermons for the fall. I do plan to continue the Covenant Book Study in the fall and spring on Wednesdays. The topics are still unknown but am amiable to ideas. I will try my hand at making salsa again. It will be spicy and available to sell for missions.
I have been thinking that June to August could be time where no robe and stole are used for Sunday morning worship, except for when the Sacraments are administered. Lest I forget, one Sunday this summer, bring out your Hawaiian shirt folks. And why not? Please, remind me to do this by mid-July.
Who remembers these infamous words with music?
“M” is for the million things she gave me,
“O” means only that she’s growing old,
“T” is for the tears she shed to save me,
“H” is for her heart of purest gold;
“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
“R” means right, and right she’ll always be,
Put them all together, they spell “MOTHER,”
A word that means the world to me.
It will be two years, seven months and two days since my mom (Marcela B. Alegria) went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus.
It will be seven years and 22 days since my mother-in-law, Nettie “Mamma Suegra” Garcia also went to be with Jesus.
Mother’s Day is also about FAMILY (Familia). Maybe, someone can coin a song, a poem, a litany about family so that all are part of this great community called-Family. Get me the notes. Boeun will play and Steve and I will sing. [I just volunteered him.]
- Make memories. I have and will continue to do so.
- Make a difference. Part of my life’s goal.
Blessings from Duncanville,
