“A dream is an incredible thing. It motivates and sustains you. It gives you direction and helps you know your priorities. But it ultimately doesn’t mean a thing if it remains only an idea. Whatever your dream is, pick yourself up and do your best to make it come true.” (John C. Maxwell)
Good folks, today is Friday, March 27, 2015.
John Maxwell challenges me. Daily we are in the trenches of life and ministry. Daily we have to see the larger picture. A couple of Sundays ago, I mentioned these words: “Consider the Possibilities…Dream beyond the Boundaries.” Well folks, I meant it.
Today is the Friday before Palm Sunday. Sunday begins Holy Week and all its worship experiences. I know that you will be in prayer for yourself, the church and our community. That is a given. But I want you to pray for the church and its future. How would you envision the next three to five years? What will the congregation look like? What will be our mission field? What is it that breaks God’s heart and how can we be instruments of healing in our community?
On Palm Sunday, Jesus knew his future and what had to happen. I want to believe that God will burden the hearts of folks to “Consider possibilities and Dream beyond Boundaries.” We have to, because Christ is counting on us…
A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” Matthew 21:8-9
Can you see it? God is doing a new thing and invites us to be part of it…
Shalom + Paz + Pax + Peace
