Good Folks, it is Friday, March 10, 2017. Daylight Savings Time is this weekend. Set your clocks, watches or electronic devices (except your phone, since they automatically adjust) one hour ahead. You lose one hour of sleep Saturday night. Sorry.
I came across this prayer in the book the Covenant Study group is reading this Lenten season. It talked to me. I wanted to share this with you.
Lord, make me a person I couldn’t be without your gracious intervention into my life. I gobble down food without a thought of its significance. Slow me down; make me sit still. I want what I want now. Give me patience by reading the long Gospel of John. I eat on the run. Teach me the grace of doing nothing. Even in church. Teach me good manners and consideration for others at the table. Make me treat this gaggle of fellow sinners as if they were brothers and sisters, baptized into this crazy quilt called church. Preach. Talk to me in public. Say things to me that I dare not say to myself. Embarrass me in front of my friends. Make me different. Particularly in church. Amen.

We are reading the Gospel of John this Lent. For Sunday, read chapters 4-6. I will be preaching from John 6:35, 60-71.
I know that God has a plan for your life. Pray always. Forgive others. Forgive yourself. Move on and learn from your mistakes. Do random acts of kindness. Be generous. Preach the gospel at all times; use words if necessary. Do all of the above. Do none. It is between you and God.

See you Sunday in church. Blessings from Duncanville, Pastor Frank
PS: God is counting on you. There is no Plan B.
