Good Folks, it is the last Friday of August, the beginning of Labor Day weekend. On Sunday we will celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion. Also, we will continue the sermon series: God’s Promises – Sacraments.
Last Sunday we had three grand events during worship to celebrate: Baptism of Emersyn Parker Jorrie (great-great granddaughter of Doris Poole), Michael & Kim O’Brien joined the membership of the church and 284 quilts were prayed for, combining the current total of quilts in CASA this Thursday to 2,692. The number will be a tad larger, since some quilts were unable to be delivered this past Sunday.
Celebrate. We celebrate lives when we remember a loved one who is now in the Church Triumphant. We celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, years of sobriety and the list continues. It is during these events that the congregation collectively celebrates. Thus, the scripture text from Exodus 12.
The whole congregation of Israel shall celebrate it. Exodus 12:47
When we celebrate, we give thanks to God for God’s abundant blessings. And we develop a spirit of gratitude.
You are invited to the Table this Sunday.
You are invited to hear the Word of God.
You are invited to invite others to the celebration God has in store for you, for us.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. 2 Corinthians 13:13
Blessings from Duncanville,
