Good Folks, it is Friday, August 25, 2017.

or 10,540,800 seconds until Christmas. But who’s counting?
It was a Saturday afternoon in Corpus Christi, Texas. All her family and mine were present. El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, at 5:15P.M., my brother Richard began to play the prelude music on the organ. The officiant and others made their way to the chancel area. It was time to begin a journey in marriage with Edna Ruth Garcia. I want you to know that today we celebrate 33 years of marriage. Anything that I have received and/or done in ministry was because of the support and encouragement of this woman. She is smarter, stronger and brilliant is many aspects of life than I could ever be. Her faith helped me when mine wavered. I thank God for her. I love you, Amor.
Yesterday, the training event for the Healthy Church Initiative (HCI) was held in Aldersgate. There is a 33 page document that you are welcome to have to read, study and pray about how you can be a part of this important part of our new future. More information forthcoming. Email Melissa@fumcd.com to receive an electronic or hardcopy version of this document.
There were 13 visitors to the country of Panama a few days ago. There will be pictures, ad nauseam. There will be many references of this mission trip in future sermons, articles in Frankly Speaking and other venues to even begin to reference. All-in-all, this was a great experience. Lots of hard work done. Lots of medical services rendered. Friendships made. Some renewed. The gospel was preached every day and very few words were spoken. Soli Deo Gloria (To God Alone Glory).
In closing, I will begin a new sermon series entitled, “Fearless.” This Sunday, the scripture lesson will be from Luke 4:16-21. I want to thank the Reverend Dr. Dale Hunt and Bridget Maloney for their outstanding pulpit leadership in my absence. Thanks.
There is a place for everyone in the Lord’s house.
Blessings from Duncanville,
