In May 2015 a violent storm hit Duncanville and the roofs of several campus buildings were damaged beyond repair. This led to water damage in Aldersgate Fellowship Hall. We began the process to remedy these issues through our insurance carrier and were very blessed to receive $465,342 from that insurance claim–Praise God.
This insurance claim is wonderful and is helping us make many crucial repairs, yet the storm damage is not the only thing that needs attention on our campus. Over time our church has faithfully maintained our campus buildings to the best of our abilities and financial resources. There have been times, however, when certain maintenance projects have not occurred due to strained finances.
The Trustees have worked hard to ensure that our campus buildings are safe, secure and welcoming, knowing that we cannot be faithful stewards of God’s property if we continue to put off crucial projects. With this in mind, they have created a project list of needed repairs and renovations for Aldersgate and our campus which will allow us to do ministry and make disciples for many years. That project list with estimated costs is listed below:
Church Property Repairs (Capital Campaign):
- Sanctuary Building Fire Suppressant System $175,000
- Campus-Wide Flat Roof Replacements 95,000
- Aldersgate Fellowship Hall Upgrades 75,000
- Exterior Campus Lighting 23,000
- Parsonages: Gutters, Windows, Driveway 35,000
- Subtotal $403,000
- Contingency Amount 97,000
- Total $500,000
Our church needs you! Eight years ago the church embarked on a Sights & Sounds Project ($200,000) and prior to that it was the building of a new sanctuary 19 years ago. Today we are called to be faithful stewards of our church, and we have an incredible opportunity to bring a revival to our campus and our congregation.
God has incredible things in store for us at FUMCD! Can we count on your support?

How can I find out more information about the different projects included in the Campus Revival Campaign? In addition to information on this page, a video will be shown in worship describing in detail each of the major components of the proposed new construction each week of the campaign.
What is being asked of me? Each family in the church is being asked to seek God’s guidance through the prayer, “Lord, what do you imagine doing through me?” and respond by completing a 12-month Campus Revival commitment card on Sunday, October 11th.
