Alright friends, I have no interesting thoughts to share with you today. So rather than waste your time by making something up, I thought I would just tell you about a very exciting event coming up on Sunday, and let you get back to your Tuesday.
On Sunday evening at ACCESS we will have a group called the Daughters of Abraham with us. They will be leading a panel discussion on interfaith dialogue. The Daughters of Abraham is an organization that promotes interfaith communication and social justice by bringing together people from Judaism, Islam and Christianity into intentional community and conversation. Here is how they self-identify: “Daughters of Abraham believe in and actively work toward peaceful and non-violent solutions to problems. Community projects have included activities that address violence and its victims and the needs of immigrants when they arrive as strangers in the community. As part of their public awareness campaign, they provide a team of members who respond to invitations from churches, civic organizations, and schools. Honoring their common heritage in Abraham, Daughters of Abraham continues to promote constructive dialogue in pursuit of interfaith understanding and peace.”
There will be three representatives from the Daughters of Abraham at ACCESS this Sunday evening; a Jewish woman, a Muslim woman and a Christian woman. They will lead a discussion and respond to our questions, and I hope you will join us as we all learn more about these different faiths and seek to live in peace with one another.
